Explore Manu Jungle 4D 3N

DAY 01.- Cusco-Cloud Forest-San Fernando Organic agriculture family House.

We depart from cusco at 5:30 am In the morning in our comfortable van driving for three and a half hours to reach the entry spot of the Manu National Park along our way we will observe the andes mountain range, valleys, andean communities and the chullpas of Ninamarca (tombs) at 4100 meters, these tombs belong to the pre-Inca culture known al Lupacas who made their tombs over here to be closer to the gods . Once we get the entry of the Manu National Park it is our plan to have our picnic lunch prepared by our expert chef. Following we will be driven into the mysterious cloud forest for 4 more hours to get the Atalaya port into the Alto Madre de Dios river, the cloud forest has a large variety of flora and fauna, making this special microclimate an ideal home for epiphytic orchids and bromeliads. In the afternoon we hike into this spectacular world; the cloud forest observing the famous Peruvian national bird (Cock of the rock) with their fascinating red colors, and acting in a daily ritual mating dance as well as trogons, quetzal, toucans, monkeys and if it is our lucky day the only bear of South America (Tremantus ornatus). Let’s have a fishing activity at night and see some nocturnal animals.

DAY 02.- San Fernando-Rain forest excursions Manu Lodge-.

We will wake you up with warm drinks at 5 in the morning to you enjoy the amazing sunrise and whistles of birds, then we will explore with our guide the organic crops of the family and grab some of the veggies for our breakfast, today on this beautiful finca we have a horse riding activity on a truly great strecth. Around 10 in the morning we will be driven for one a half hours deeply in the low forest. Upon our arrival we will take a motor boat for 30 minutes to get out lodge in the middle of the amazon forest, along the boat way we will be able to observe capivaras, neotropical cormorans, egrets, herons and much more. In the afternoon after lunch we start hiking through forest looking families of monkeys, peccaries, tapir, birds and also the giant kapok tree, and many air plants like psycodellic vines. Along this hike our expert guide will explain you about medicinal plants, reptiles, mammals, etc. At nigth we have a walking nocturnal activity to see spiders, colorful frogs,caimans and much more.

DAY 3: Manu Lodge-Activities

After a yummy breakfast, be ready to take a motor boat for around 40 minutes to the macaw, parrot and parakeet clay licks, let’s enjoy such a great party and then be moved by boat for 45 minutes in order to get the Machuwasi (lagoon) to appreciate many families of hoatzins (primitive bird), horned screamer, hawk, herons, capybara and an much more, in the afternoon after our yummy buffet lunch prepared by our expert chef and digest time in the hammocks, let’s go to swim and fish on the Alto Madre de Dios river. In the evening let’s enjoy our happy hour and dinner

DAY 4: Manu lodge-Cusco

After our breakfast we will take a boat for 45 minutes in order to get the Atalaya port where we will take our private van for 45 minutes to the Dos Loritos rescue center to see all the rescued and protected animals of that organization, following we will be driven for 3 hours until we reach a pretty lookout to enjoy our picnic lunch, then we will drive our van for three more hour to finally get Cusco by 6 pm.

Included

Professional english speaker Guides: all our super leaders grewp up in cusco region and studied tourism for five years at cusco’s university, they are friendly, funny charming, knowledgeable, professional and will care your safety into our treks

Permits: As soon as we get your details and deposit, we will purchase your permits.

The night before your trek departs, you will come to our office for your briefing. You will recieve your duffel bag that will stay with our porters, while you hike. This duffel bag should not exceed 7kg/14 lbs and does need to include your sleeping bag and air mattress.

Porters: We include a personal porter, who is responsible for carrying your duffel bag. There is no additional cost for this. You will not have access to your duffel bag until our evening basecamp.

Transportation: we going to have transportation included in this trek. You will be picked up directly from your hotel around 4:30 a.m. and be driven to the beginning of our trek, Upis Bajo (3,900 meters).

Equipment: Incas path has the best equipment. We use Eureka Timberline 4 tents that are shared by only two people. You will have a large dining tent to enjoy your meals in.

Food: Our expert hiking chefs cook delicious meals that many previous trekkers have loved. We honor all food restrictions, so be sure to add any that you have on your booking form and let your guide know at your briefing. Food is typically all served as buffet. We will enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day, tea time and snacks. A snack will be provided each morning for you to enjoy through the hike. Your last meal with your expert chef will be after lunch on day four.

Water: starting from your first lunch until your last breakfast, Incas path will supply ad much water as needed. The water we provide is boiled, filtered, and then cooled before distributing. You must bring your water bottles or camelback. We recommend carrying about 3 Liters worth a day. You will be able to refill your water at each meal.

First Aid: Every Incas Path guide has got training in first aid from a clinic and firemen. We elaborate mandatory training sessions every February, which every single Incas Path tour leader must attend. Your tour leader is going to have always a first-aid kit for basic medical problems (traveler’s diarrhea, cuts, scrapes,cramp etc.) and oxygen.

Extras: We thing it´s the care to small details that separates us from other trek companies. Every trekker receives a small pillow to sleep with, a foam mattress for insulation, and a rain poncho. We going to work hard to create your best holiday.

Not Included

Rentals: Every trekker needs a sleeping bag when camping. Inflatable air mattresses and trekking poles (with rubber tips) are optional but necesary. If you don’t want to bring any of the above, they are all available for rent:

For Your Duffel: Our porters will carry up to 7 kg of your personal items. This must include your sleeping bag and air matt (if you bring/rent one). From us these two items weigh 3.5 kg.

Inside Your Daypacks:

Daypacks can be any size for hiking, but we always recommend the smaller, the better. Inside Machu Picchu, no bag larger than 25 litters will be allowed in. If larger, you will need to store outside in the Machupicchu check point. Some items are listed above and can be a personal choice if you want in daypack or duffel.
